Have y'all been watching the Olympics?
That's a trick question. Everyone's been watching the Olympics. Have you managed to avoid spoilers? It's getting pretty difficult, seeing as how they are on TV, Facebook, Twitter, and all over the internet. I managed to put a moratorium on social media last night so I could watch the last few swim races and be surprised, but J spilled the beans. Then he told me that he can't imagine not watching sports live. This from the guy who will watch re-runs of ATP 100 matches from six months ago.
So what's your favorite part of the Olympics? Other than watching Team USA kick serious booty, for me, it's watching the parents. Aly Raisman's parents are overnight celebrities thanks to their anxious reaction to their daughter's bar routine. And did you hear about Gabby Douglas' two moms? After Gabby asked her real Mom if she could train 20 hours away with Shawn Johnson's couch, another family took her in and cared for her. That's sacrifice on both sides.
The families are all staying together at the P & G "Mom House." One thing I'd bet they all have in common is laundry - lots of it. Wonder if Ryan Lochte bring his Mom all his swimsuits to wash?
I have a feeling that quite a bit more laundry is in my future. Teeny, tiny onsies and blankets and burp cloths. I'm so excited about Baby Peanut that I'm actually pumped for the day I get to fold her cute laundry. Mom friends, don't giggle too hard.
A few months ago, I started using Downy Unstoppables for our laundry, especially with the sheets and towels and for J's tennis clothes. I love that man, but holy crud, can he stink up a load with his work out clothes.
The great thing about Unstoppables is that the scent really does last. Sheets that I washed several weeks ago still smell fresh when I grab them out of the linen closet. And I personally believe that newly changed bed sheets should smell like they came right out of the dryer, even when they did not.
P & G just launched their eStore and they are offering 10% off all items now through August 31, 2012.
The shipping is free for any purchases over $25.00, and there are tons of great Olympic-themed bundles and deals right now. That's not surprising considering P & G is a huge supporter of the Olympics (and Olympic Moms, of course).
Like using coupons? They are right there on the website and you can apply the coupon directly to your purchase.
