I Ran, Then I Showered
5.5 miles of running, 4 hours of driving, 1 shower, and 1 trip to Burger-Fi. Saturday was quite the busy day.
So I started the day running the longest distance that I have since getting pregnant. I harbor no allusions and do realize that 5.5 miles doesn't qualify as a long run, but I gotta tell you - I was happy to get in the miles and it felt like a long run to me. Unfortunately, I now realize exactly how much work I have cut out for me when I start training again. I am getting a lot slower, but what can I do about it? Absolutely nothing. All I can do is keep on trucking and look forward to the day when I can start training again.
I finished my run and dropped of a gift for Katy before getting on the road for my law school friend's shower in Port Saint Lucie. Unfortunately, I haven't mastered the power of teleportation and there was no way for me to make both showers. The good news is that I get to read all the recaps of Katy's shower thanks to all the bloggers that attended.
Veronica's shower was hosted by her sister, Erica. In lieu of playing games, we were given blank onesies and bibs and asked to decorate them.
Oh, man. I am so not creative. There's a reason my brother rejects every design idea I've had for the nursery. But everyone else seemed to take the idea and run with it.
I couldn't put it off any longer, so I made a bib. My motto: K.I.S.S. I am quite proud of the fact that I traced that E freehand. Martha Stewart, eat your heart out.
I also made the "UF" on this onesie. One of the other guests actually traced the Gator. That is talent, my friends.
Veronica, her Mom, and her sister: I may or may not have tried to peel the dress she wore right off of her.
Yes, I am trying to steal your dress.
I ate two cupcakes (for fuel!) and then headed back to Orlando. Turns out, cupcakes don't really hold you over, so J and I met up with two of our friends for dinner at Burger-Fi in Winter Park. I'd show you all the pictures I took but I was too busy eating to bother with that ish.
For dessert (yes, I had dessert after the cupcakes), I had a concrete with vanilla custard, Oreos, M & M's and hot fudge. Holy crap - that thing was awesome.
Strangely, I had some trouble sleeping last night. Wonder why? It definitely wasn't all the sugar.

Of course you're getting slower pregnant lady! The good news is once you have the baby you will suddenly be a lot lighter and that will help with the running. The bad news is...other things will hurt.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome day!
How great that you are still running! Wondered if Burger Fi was good?
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute w/ your baby bump! :)
