| 25th Birthday at The Swamp |
The reason and I J started dating was because I lost a bet about Alabama football. Back in 2000, Alabama lost its homecoming game to UCF (University of Central Florida). I thought we lost to USF. I bet the boy from Central Florida, whose entire family went to Alabama, that I was right. I lost the bet. He won a date. We were inseparable thereafter.
Two years after we started dating, J proposed.
We graduated from law school four months after that.
Two months after graduation, we took the bar, moved to Orlando, and bought a house.
Four months later, we married. Don't tell anyone we lived in sin.
We quickly learned that the practice of law is nothing like law school. The first two years were particularly difficult and both of us nearly crumbled under the stress of struggling to find our professional identities. Luckily, we had each other to lean on when the going got really tough, and we learned ways to cope with our frustration.
Just as we started to figure it out on a professional front, we began to deal with my infertility struggles. At first I was ashamed to admit our problems. When it became clear that J could not shoulder this burden alone, I started to confide in others. But he was still my number one, my rock.
Then, God finally answered our prayers with the one and only BFP we needed. Finally, our duo is destined to become a trio.
