Last night was the April meeting of the
Central Florida Lady Bloggers, which means I tried to dress extra cute for once in my life since
J was in attendance (and took the photo below - thanks, J!).
left to right: J,
Roxy,
Paula,
Roz,
Michelle,
Jackie,
Colleen,
Katy,
Hemarie, and me. And Paula, the dress is from Tarjay. ;-)
The meet up was at Uptown Wine Bar in Baldwin Park, but they must have known their audience. Clearly, we aren't girly girls (pics courtesy of Colleen via the Central Fla. Lady Bloggers FB site).
It wouldn't be a blogger meet up without everyone's twitter handles:
Want to guess who the last three people to arrive were?
As usual, we had a great time getting together. If you're in the Central Florida area, please consider joining us next time. I can't make the meeting, but you should probably still come anyway. ;-) Check our Facebook group for updates.
I
politely asked begged Jackie and Katy to hit the road a little early so I could watch the first round of the draft. I even picked up pizza and beer on the way home for J. Although that may make it seem as though I'm turning into a dude, I can assure you that every good Southern girl knows her draft picks. And
when your school lands four first round draft picks, you want to see it all go down.

Speaking of Alabama, today marks the one year anniversary of the tornadoes that devastated Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where the University of Alabama is located. Seeing that tornado pass right over the apartment complex that I once lived in was sobering. Watching the video of it made my stomach churn. It's just one of those things that is so much more real when the TV is reporting that the Taco Casa where you once ate with your girlfriends has been flattened to nothing. I'm glad that people remember and that safety precautions are much stronger as a result. Too many people lost their lives that day.
On a happier note, I am so glad to close out one of the more challenging work weeks I've experienced in a long time. TGIF, everyone!
That is so great that you can do meetups. I haven't seen a big market for north suburban blogger meetups so I'm a bit envious. Good for you watching the draft. That's authentic reality tv!! Hope you have a great weekend to make up for a stressful week.
